Element has an opportunity for a Associate Cyber Security Test Engineerto join our rapidly expanding team in Hull. As a member of the operations team, the cyber security engineer position performs a variety of routine and non-routine testing assignments within the department assigned and insures timely and accurate test results under minimal direct supervision. This role will focus on exciting new areas such as cyber security, smart energy and matter technology.

Core Responsibilities

  • Initial activities will relate to testing of Cyber Security, Zigbee and Matter protocols
  • To perform testing to procedures
  • Become familiar with test equipment functions, measurement and calibration techniques
  • Maintain a technical logbook
  • Record results of tests on the prescribed result sheets
  • Prepare test reports as laid down in procedure manual
  • Interact with clients during testing to inform them of test results and request required test information
  • Ensure that commercial confidentiality is maintained
  • Carry out any other reasonable duty as directed by the Department Manager – Smart Technology
  • Occasional business travel may be required both domestic and international.

Skills / Qualifications

  • University degree in computing, programming, IT or equivalent work experience
  • Interest in the area of cyber security, smart energy and other emerging technologies
  • Experience with programming languages such as Phyton, JavaScript, Java, C+
  • Familiar with Connectivity Standards Alliance (CSA) processes would be an advantage
