Overview
Warringtonfire, part of Element, has an opportunity for a Product Assessor in the steel protection area to join our growing Technical team.
This is a great opportunity to work with one of the fastest growing organisations within the Testing, Inspection & Certification sector. Warringtonfire exists to help make certain that the materials, products and processes that we test, inspect and certify for our customers are always safe, quality, compliant and fit for purpose.

Responsibilities
- Plan Fire Resistance test programmes in liaison with clients and the relevant testing departments
- Review audit and sampling reports, fire and non-fire test reports, product technical documentation, etc. for technical compliance in line with the relevant standard/scheme/project requirements
- Prepare technical engineering reports and make technical judgments in relation to fire protection product sectors within your competency
- Respond to and resolve technical and certification enquiries
- Continuously develop knowledge in National, European and International Standards and Specifications relating to fire safety, and in specialist product areas
- Assisting in the development of the department – positively contribute ideas and provide sounding-board for new initiatives
- Autonomy for own work schedule, prioritise activity to meet customer or business deadlines
- Maintain professional work standards
- Work with manager, colleagues and team to increase knowledge of role and standards and the service provided by all; put effort into improving technical and decision-making skills for self and the team
Skills / Qualifications
- Ideally educated to engineering degree level or relevant industry experience
- Understanding of structural elements behavior under load would be advantageous
- Able to read and understand technical drawings
- Exposure within any fire industry, building materials, materials science, product installation, engineering, construction, product certification, fire-related product development or a similar technical industry would be advantageous
- Keen interest in all aspects of fire safety
- Respond positively to change
- Able to prioritise and reach decisions quickly and effectively
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent numeracy skills and strong attention to detail
