Overview

Element is looking for a LABORATORY TECHNICIAN for our busy laboratory based in Deeside. No experience necessary as full training will be given. A science background and education to A Level standard is preferable but not essential for the right candidate.

Element Deeside is the largest analytical chemistry laboratory within the Element Group and the market leading UK laboratory undertaking the testing of soils, waters, wastes, oils, NAPLs, ambient air, soil vapours and gases from all over the world. The laboratory undertakes high volume routine analysis as well as offering bespoke method development, technical support and hydrocarbon forensic interpretations to enhance the support we can deliver. The laboratory has an international reputation for service excellence and supports clients that require a higher level of technical expertise, reliability in data quality and seamless project management from sample collection to timely delivery of data.

Responsibilities

  • Undertaking a variety of extractions or sample preparation
  • Undertaking basic analysis following standard procedures
  • Maintaining accurate records, calibrating equipment and general housekeeping
  • Reporting of results using LIMS (Laboratory Information Management System)
  • Ad hoc duties as required

Skills / Qualifications

  • A science background. Education to A level is preferable but not essential
  • The right aptitude and/or previous relevant experience will also be taken into account
  • Full training will be provided – no experience necessary (for the Laboratory Technician role)
  • Experience within a laboratory preferably processing soils and waters (Senior Laboratory Technician)
  • Highly motivated and organised individual
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and adhere to deadlines
  • A team player with a positive attitude
