Element has an opportunity for a Head of Planning & Operations. In this role, you will be reporting to the General Manager for the Element Digital Engineering business, a leading provider of specialist engineering consultancy services, supporting clients across highly regulated and technically demanding industries including Nuclear, Aerospace, Energy, and Defence, both in the UK and internationally. As Head of Planning & Operations, you will be a key member of the leadership team accountable for the deployment of robust Planning and Operational management processes throughout the business to ensure delivery of all financial and customer commitments.
Responsibilities
- Operational Leadership: Lead the development and deployment of the operations framework and business processes that integrate the delivery, technical and functional legs of the EDE organisation to ensure that financial and operational commitments are delivered.
- Business Planning Leadership: Develop and operate the Sales and Operational Planning process to bring together the sales plan (load) with the resourcing plan (capacity) to ensure the EDE business maintains a balanced, executable plan across both the strategic and operational horizons.
- Lead the development and deployment of the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) toolset deployed in the business and ensure integration with the global organisations systems and tools.
- Programme Management Leadership: Be the Programme Management functional lead to ensure Programme Management best practices are consistently deployed across all projects.
- Operate a Programme Management Office (PMO) to ensure effective governance of programme and project performance.
- Mentor, coach and develop our engineering team in Programme Management skills.
- Facilities Management leadership across the EDE footprint.

Skills / Qualifications
- 10+ years with demonstrated experience in Leading business units/entities with accountability for Operations Management and Planning.
- Operating a PMO and managing programmes/projects.
- Strong business acumen with familiarity of operating a Profit and Loss.
- Team player with ability to influence and lead peers.
- Strong communicator with a customer focused mindset.
- Experience within a Consultancy Business would be beneficial but not essential.
