Elektra Lighting is seeking two intermediate lighting designers to join its team in London.
Us
We are a long-established (25 years) award winning lighting consultancy based in London. With projects all across Europe, the Middle East, and the US our work focusses on hotels, retail, exterior and more.
The role
We are seeking individuals who can:
Collaborate closely with the design team to create innovative lighting schemes across a range of market sectors, large-scale developments, and masterplans.
Participate in all stages of a project, from initial concept through to completion.
Prepare detailed lighting drawings, specifications, and technical reports.
Proficiently use Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office, and AutoCAD; experience with Revit and other 3D modeling software is a strong advantage including ACC
Conduct site visits to evaluate and review lighting installations.
Oversee project schedules, budgets, and resources to ensure successful delivery.
Communicate clearly and professionally with clients, contractors, and suppliers.
Be willing and able to travel internationally when required
You should be an enthusiastic, hardworking, creative, and self-motivated individual.
You need to have experience in lighting design working in a design studio environment on commercial projects, ideally hotels.
Conditions
We work a full time 35-hour week (with full pay) spread over Monday to Thursday. Yes that’s right, Fridays are off (major perk) so you get to enjoy long weekends every week.
We also have an in-house training programme and team structure to encourage your development. Also pension, etc.
We have adopted a hybrid part office / part home working pattern, but note we would want you to be in full time for the first few weeks at our office in Clerkenwell, to get the hang of how we work.
Dealbreakers
Do not apply if you don’t have a current UK work visa, or if you are not based in the UK and want to work entirely remotely. These are non-negotiable.
Note: just to be completely clear; we are not product designers. We don’t design light fittings, in the same way that architects do not design bricks. We create well-lit architectural spaces using light.
We are committed to equal opportunities so would especially love to hear from you if you are from any sort of minority, even if you don’t think you quite have everything it takes.
Please submit your CV and portfolio immediately, marked ‘Application for lighting designer position’ to Neil Knowles – preferably on email to neil@elektralighting.co.uk rather than via the “apply for job button” below.
