What You’ll Do At Elekta:
- The Patent Engineer serves as a bridge between the Intellectual Property (IP) team and the engineering organisation.
- The Patent Engineer will help identify and evaluate inventions arising from research and development activities, in collaboration with qualified Patent Attorneys.
- The role will support invention harvesting, prior art and novelty assessments, competitor monitoring, patent portfolio management, and IP awareness initiatives across the business.
Responsibilities:
- Partner with engineering and product development teams to identify, capture and assess innovations with patent potential.
- Support invention disclosure reviews, prior-art searches and patentability assessments in collaboration with Patent Attorneys.
- Maintain and support the development of Elekta's patent portfolio, ensuring accurate records and effective portfolio management.
- Monitor competitor activity, technology trends and intellectual property landscapes to provide valuable business insights.
- Promote intellectual property awareness through training, guidance materials and engagement with technical teams.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of IP processes, innovation management tools, reporting and cross-functional collaboration.
What You’ll Bring:
- University education in science or engineering (or equivalent) with an ability to understand technical concepts in any of the following fields: electronics, physics or software.
- Recent graduate or up to 2 years of experience.
- Interest in patents, IP, innovation management or technology commercialisation.
- Familiarity with scientific literature reviews, patent databases, or technical searching.
