Responsibilities

  • Provide training to clients on IPR and related matters.
  • Liaise with engineering and product management to identify IP protection needs, including patents, trademarks, designs, copyrights, and trade secrets.
  • Conduct invention harvesting and assessment of invention disclosures, develop IP filing strategies, perform prior art searches and reviews, draft and prosecute patent applications, and oversee work with outside counsel.
  • Identify and advise on potential third‑party IPR risk and manage any infringement risk in collaboration with senior IPR team members.

Qualifications

  • University education in science or engineering and partial qualification as a patent attorney in a primary IPR country (e. g., Certificate of IP or UK foundation exams).
  • 1–3 years post‑qualification experience as a patent attorney in‑house or in private practice.
  • Competence in patent drafting, prosecution, opposition (direct or indirect), infringement, and validity opinions.
  • Adept at Microsoft Office products.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong advocacy skills.
  • Strong scientific background and knowledge.
  • Sound knowledge of IP law globally.
