Nail Technician / Trainee Nail Technician required for a high street salon in Wickford.
Required Thursday to Saturday with the option for full time. The shop is open from 9am to a nominal closure time of 6pm. Last customers are generally booked for 5:45 which can lead to finish times of around 7pm, although trainees will not usually be required to work this late. Busy periods may be later than this.
Some experience required but training will be given. Duties will include, when fully competent, providing clients with the following services:
- Gel nails and toes.
- Full sets of acrylics.
- Pedicures.
- Nail cutting and polishing.
- Take off.
The successful applicant will also be required to:
- Keep basic work records.
- Participate in a cleaning rota.
- Record use of stock.
- Answer the phone, make bookings, take payments and provide general front of house services.
Experience with Instagram, Facebook, TikTok and YouTube would be highly desirable to assist with marketing and would lead to faster progression for trainees.
The position is initially employed on an hourly rate according to age and experience with a view to a longer-term self-employed position renting a chair in the salon. The salon is a few minutes’ walk from Wickford Station and metered parking is available nearby. Some free parking is available nearby and also within a 10-minute walk.
Interviews will include a practical element, so 1 hour should be allowed for.
