Elegant Clutter work with high end hotels and restaurants and provide a bespoke service to clients both within the UK and overseas.

At Elegant Clutter, we create bespoke artwork and sculpture for hotels, restaurants, and spaces around the world. From delicate sketches to large-scale installations, our work tells stories that transform interiors into unforgettable experiences. Our in-house studio is a collaborative hub where art, design thinking, and craftsmanship meet - and we are ready to welcome a manager who can take us even further.
The Role
Reporting to the Head of Design and working closely with our Studio Manager, the Design Manager will be responsible for driving both creativity and efficiency across the Elegant Clutter brand. You’ll lead a talented team of designers and artists, ensuring they produce work that is imaginative, refined, and commercially aligned. You’ll guide projects from concept through to delivery, balancing big ideas with practical execution, and ensuring the studio runs smoothly, productively, and with a creative buzz.
What You’ll Lead & Deliver
- Creative Direction & Vision
- Set a bold creative direction for Elegant Clutter projects and collections.
- Drive high-quality concept development across artwork, sculpture, and visual storytelling.
- Elevate the creative output of the team, pushing innovation while ensuring brand alignment.
- Team Leadership & Development
- Manage, coach, and inspire a multidisciplinary team of designers, artists, and makers.
- Create a supportive and high-performance studio culture where creativity thrives.
- Provide clear guidance, feedback, and development pathways for team members.
- Operational Efficiency & Delivery
- Work closely with the Studio Manager to ensure smooth planning, workflow, and resource allocation.
- Improve process efficiency without compromising creativity.
- Oversee internal and external communication to ensure consistent, timely project delivery.
- Client Engagement & Collaboration
- Translate client briefs into compelling creative strategies and presentations.
- Lead or support client presentations with clarity, confidence, and creative insight.
- Build strong relationships with internal teams, external artists, and suppliers.
What You Bring
- Significant experience in a creative studio environment, with proven management experience.
- A portfolio demonstrating creative thinking, a strong eye for colour, composition, and originality.
- Strength in Adobe Photoshop & Illustrator, plus an understanding of digital print processes.
- Experience guiding or managing designers (multidisciplinary team experience is ideal).
- Excellent communication, organisation, and project leadership skills.
- A passion for art, design, and storytelling — and a commitment to continual improvement.
- Hand-drawing or painting skills are a bonus but not essential.
