Location: Stevenage (relocation assistance may be available)

Salary: Circa £50,000 depending on experience

Working Pattern: Hybrid, 2 days per week on-site with flexible hours

Join a high‑technology defence organisation that manufactures weapons systems. This role focuses on ensuring effective supplier performance, capability and risk management across all programmes, managing both mature and new technologies in a dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor and improve supplier performance in delivery and quality using appropriate tools and lean methodologies
  • Conduct capacity audits to identify bottlenecks, yield, resources and sub‑tier mapping to form an industrial view of suppliers
  • Manage a portfolio of suppliers, report performance and manage supply chain risks
  • Apply problem‑solving techniques such as DMAIC to develop and implement root cause analysis and improvement plans

Candidate Requirements

  • Degree in Supply Chain or equivalent experience in supply chain management or supplier development within aerospace, defence or manufacturing environments with high exposure to machining including capacity and capabilities in the machining and aerospace surface treatments environment
  • Proven experience managing a portfolio of suppliers on a day‑to‑day basis and reporting into designated project the performance and manage supply chain risks to closure
  • Understanding of techniques such as DMAIC (Define, Measure, Analyse, Improve, Control) to develop and implement root cause analysis and improvement plans within Supply Chain
  • Ability to lead improvements in supplier performance and implement risk mitigation strategies
  • Willingness to travel internationally as required
