What you will be doing
- Drive engineering commonality, modularity and reuse across multiple defence programmes
- Assess opportunities to reuse existing technologies and design solutions while balancing performance, risk and security considerations
- Lead the management of technical risks, product dependencies and obsolescence challenges
- Work closely with engineering, commercial and finance teams to improve efficiency and reduce duplication of effort
- Influence future product strategies through informed technical decision making
- Act as a key link between engineering functions, specialist teams and programme stakeholders
Your experience
- Significant experience within systems engineering or a related engineering discipline
- Understanding of complex products and their development lifecycles
- Ability to analyse and communicate sophisticated technical issues with clarity
- Experience balancing technical performance, cost and delivery considerations
- Strong stakeholder engagement and influencing skills
- Experience of commonality, modularity, reuse or product standardisation approaches would be advantageous
Where you will work
Bolton, hybrid working with 2 to 3 days per week onsite. Alternatively can be based in Bristol or Hertfordshire.
