A specialist recruitment partnership is seeking a Functional Integration Lead to join a high-performance team supporting missile systems integration and verification. This permanent role offers the opportunity to lead technical delivery of functional integration and system verification activities, contributing to complex programmes and developing system-level expertise.
Role Overview
The Functional Integration Lead will take responsibility for the day-to-day management and technical delivery of functional integration and system verification activities. Reporting to the Chief Systems Proving Engineer, the role involves planning and conducting integration and compatibility testing for missile and munition equipment. The successful candidate will work closely with multiple project stakeholders to ensure design verification and evidence requirements are met, while mentoring a small team of integration engineers to support skills development and knowledge sharing.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead functional integration and system verification activities for assigned programmes
- Plan and execute integration, compatibility and proving tests, including HWIL and software integration
- Work collaboratively with project teams to achieve verification milestones
- Manage and mentor a small team of integration engineers
- Apply practical problem-solving skills to complex systems challenges
- Maintain awareness of system and subsystem functionality and behaviours
Candidate Requirements
- Degree or equivalent in an engineering discipline
- Understanding of hardware and software integration and test activities
- Experience with commercial laboratory test equipment
- Familiarity with data analysis tools and methods
- Appreciation of electronics technologies is advantageous
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to lead and develop a small team
- Adaptable, innovative, and capable of working in a fast-paced environment
