Safety Engineer Electus is seeking a highly experienced Safety Engineer to join our client, a leading provider of engineering solutions. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in ensuring the safety and compliance of explosive facilities. Key Responsibilities: Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive safety programs and procedures. Conduct risk assessments and hazard identification to mitigate potential risks. Prepare and manage explosive safety cases in accordance with relevant standards and regulations. Liaise with internal and external stakeholders, including regulatory authorities, to ensure compliance. Conduct training and awareness sessions for employees on safety protocols and emergency procedures. Investigate accidents and incidents, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions. Stay up-to-date with industry best practices and regulatory changes. Required Qualifications and Experience: Extensive experience in explosive safety management and compliance. Strong understanding of relevant safety standards and regulations (e.g., DSA03.OME, MACR, HSAW, ADR). Proven track record in developing and implementing safety programs. Knowledge and experience of OME Storage, Logistics, and Facilities Practical understanding of blast resistant facility design principles Experience in planning and managing ammunition storage Knowledge of ammunition inspection and incident investigation In-depth knowledge of Land Service Ammunition and relevant JSPs and DEF STANs Strong foundation in mathematics, ballistics, explosives, and materials science Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Due to the nature of work undertaken by our client, incumbents of these positions are required to undergo pre-employment screening and must be able to satisfy clearance criteria for UK Security Vetting to SC Level. This is a permanent role The client has offices in Bristol and on the South Coast. This role is hybrid some will require some travel/office and home based working. JBRP1_UKTJ
