What you will need:
- British nationality required for security clearance
- Chartered Engineer, Scientist or Environmentalist with experience in coastal or marine environment projects
- Proven ability to manage projects and mentor junior team members
Salary and more:
- Salary: £60-80k
- Location: Bristol (hybrid working opportunities)
- Occasional travel as required
Your role:
- Lead technical coastal work and oversee junior staff in geomorphology, hydrodynamics, flooding, environmental assessments, GIS, and technical reporting
- Ensure quality assurance for technical deliverables and guide junior staff in coastal management practices
- Progress a suite of projects under your control, managing resources and supporting project procedures including financial and change control
- Contribute to business development activities such as tendering and client engagement
Your experience:
- Technical capability: proficient in wave, tide, and sediment transport modelling; empirical methods; data analysis; GIS (ArcGIS, MapInfo, QGIS); and adaptive coastal management approaches
- Behavioural capability: ability to lead and develop technical teams, manage multiple projects, and mentor junior staff
- Strong desire to innovate and learn across challenges, with a focus on high standards and practical problem solving
