What you will need:

  • A passion for ecology and solid working knowledge of natural environment and wildlife legislation.
  • Experience in UKHab surveys, Preliminary Ecological Assessment, Ecological Impact Assessment, Habitats Regulations Assessment, and Biodiversity Net Gain assessments.
  • Strong bat or ornithological skills.
  • Full UK driving licence.

What you will work on:

  • Lead ecological assessments and habitat design for nature recovery and development projects.
  • Develop innovative ecological mitigation and compensation strategies.
  • Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams and engage with stakeholders and clients.
  • Deliver high-quality ecological reports in line with current guidance and best practice.
  • Take ownership of projects, manage tasks, and mentor junior staff.

Your experience:

  • Background in ecological assessments, mitigation, and habitat design.
  • Expertise in protected species surveys, mitigation, and licensing.
  • Solid understanding of bidding, client relationships, and delivering projects from start to finish.
  • Membership of CIEEM or equivalent, with the ability to achieve Chartership (CEnv or CEcol).

Where you will be based:

Ideal base location: Birmingham. However, the role can be based anywhere in the UK with a hybrid working arrangement.
