This is an opportunity to join a major defence engineering programme where you will lead the definition of test scenarios, success criteria and verification activities for a sophisticated command and control system. You will work across the product development lifecycle, collaborating with engineering, design and project stakeholders to ensure requirements are effectively verified and that test evidence demonstrates the required system performance. The role offers the opportunity to develop your technical and leadership skills while contributing to the delivery of complex systems that support critical operational capability.The role As Validation and Verification Lead, you will lead a small team responsible for planning, coordinating and delivering V&V activities. Your responsibilities will include:Leading a small team undertaking validation and verification activitiesDefining test scenarios and test descriptions to support software and system testingDeveloping verification plans and agreeing appropriate verification methods with relevant engineering authoritiesPopulating requirements compliance matrices to generate evidence against requirementsAnalysing test results to validate software and system operationSupporting issue resolution during testingAnalysing evidence and contributing to technical, safety and security reportsProducing metrics to track progress and provide accurate project statusWorking with wider engineering and project stakeholders throughout the systems development processMonitoring progress against project schedules and forecasting completion datesSupporting change management activities and managing the implementation of requirements changesIdentifying and implementing process improvementsWhat we're looking for We are looking for an experienced Validation and Verification professional with a strong understanding of systems engineering and software verification. You will ideally have:Detailed knowledge of Validation and Verification processesExperience developing software or system design definition baselines from requirements through to products ready for testingExperience leading small engineering teams and delivering planned outcomesThe ability to work effectively within cross-functional engineering teamsStrong analytical skills, with the ability to assess requirements, test evidence and technical reportsExperience using DOORS, Rhapsody or similar requirements, engineering or configuration management toolsA degree-level qualification or equivalent relevant engineering experience, preferably within a STEM disciplineThis role would suit candidates with backgrounds in Validation and Verification, Systems Engineering, Test Engineering, Software Verification, Requirements Engineering or Defence Systems Engineering who are looking to take the next step in technical leadership.What's on offerSalary up to 55,000 depending on experienceCompany performance-related bonusPension contribution of up to 14% combined employer and employee contributionPaid overtime opportunitiesUp to 15 additional days of flexi leaveFlexible working arrangementsEnhanced parental leaveExcellent site facilities including subsidised meals and free car parkingSecurity and eligibility Restrictions and/or limitations relating to nationality and/or rights to work may apply.
