A well-established engineering organisation is seeking a Senior Configuration Engineer to support the controlled delivery of complex defence systems. This role offers a technical challenge and the opportunity to contribute to a range of high-profile, mission-led engineering programmes.
Role Overview
Working within a close-knit and motivated team, you will provide direct configuration management support across several core product lines. You will be responsible for interpreting technical data and Bills of Materials, managing engineering design changes, and ensuring configuration integrity throughout the product lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate configuration control across complex product assemblies, interpreting technical data and BoMs
- Support and manage engineering change processes, including documentation preparation and change control meetings
- Ensure configuration management practices are upheld across internal teams and suppliers, including audit support
- Collaborate with engineering, functional and project stakeholders to support product integrity and data accuracy
Skills and Experience
- Background in configuration control or technical data management within aerospace, defence or a similar sector
- Experience of managing and implementing engineering design changes across a multi-stakeholder environment
- Skilled in handling technical data and documents including drawings, CAD models and BoMs
- Familiarity with configuration management principles and PLM tools such as PTC Windchill would be desirable
You will work in a collaborative environment and have access to professional development, training and potential accreditation in configuration management. Due to the nature of work at our client's site, these vacancies are only open to British Citizens who hold SC clearance or can obtain it.
