You will lead a calibration function where your team ensures critical test and measurement equipment is accurate, compliant and fully operational, giving you real ownership of technical standards and team output. This role gives clear responsibility for both people leadership and hands-on technical oversight in a regulated engineering environment.
What you will need:
- HNC or HND or above in electronics engineering or equivalent
- Proven experience managing engineering teams or leading technical staff
- Strong understanding of test and measurement equipment and calibration principles
- Experience working to engineering standards and audit requirements
Salary and rewards:
£50,000 plus performance related bonus up to £2,500 per year
What you will be doing:
- Leading a growing team of engineers and technicians within calibration and maintenance
- Overseeing calibration and repair of commercial off the shelf (COTS) test and measurement equipment
- Managing compliance with calibration standards and audit requirements
- Supporting workload planning and delivery across laboratory operations
- Working with internal and external stakeholders to ensure service levels are met
- Using systems such as Fluke METCAL for manual and automated calibrations
Skills and experience:
- Strong background in electronics engineering within a calibration or test environment
- Proven people management experience in an engineering setting
- Knowledge of calibration principles, calibration controls and equipment capabilities
- Experience supporting audits and compliance processes
- Ability to manage workload and coordinate technical teams
- Exposure to SAP or JIRA beneficial but not essential
