Salary: Β£50-60k per annum

Location: Fareham, UK

Working: Hybrid (3-4 days on site)

Clearance: SC Eligible

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leading the development of marine engineering solutions across complex vessels.
  • Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to deliver projects from concept to production and in-service support.
  • Conducting surveys, engineering investigations, and feasibility studies to resolve technical challenges.
  • Engaging with suppliers, partners, and stakeholders to influence design outcomes.
  • Supporting compliance, technical approvals, and in-service modification activities.
  • Contributing to research and development for future vessel concepts and engineering processes.

Your experience:

  • Minimum three years' design experience in the commercial marine sector (vessels 15–70m+).
  • HNC/HND or Degree in Mechanical or Marine Engineering, or equivalent.
  • Extensive marine engineering design experience with commercial and naval vessels.
  • Ability to lead marine design work packages within multidisciplinary teams.
  • Awareness of ship system integration, classification requirements, and engineering compliance activities.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD 2D; ideally experienced with 3D CAD and Microsoft Office.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, able to influence effectively.
  • Flexible, professional, and able to prioritise multiple tasks while mentoring less experienced staff where applicable.
