Take ownership of how complex electronic systems are tested as they move from development into production. This is an opportunity to influence test strategy, solve challenging technical problems and broaden your impact across the full product lifecycle within the defence sector.

Location and setup: Hybrid working in Hertfordshire, with regular on-site attendance required due to the nature of the work.

What you will be doing:

  • Support the introduction of new test systems and facilities from development through to production readiness.
  • Diagnose and resolve electrical and electronic test issues at system, sub-assembly and circuit card level.
  • Develop test specifications, operator instructions and supporting technical documentation.
  • Work closely with engineering, manufacturing and operational teams to overcome technical challenges.
  • Contribute to production readiness activities and ensure appropriate configuration control is maintained.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentoring to less experienced engineers.

Skills and background:

  • HNC, HND, degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant engineering discipline.
  • Significant experience in electronics manufacture, test and fault finding.
  • Strong understanding of electrical, electronic and RF measurement principles.
  • Experience supporting product development lifecycles within a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to prioritise multiple technical activities and deliver against project objectives.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with experience producing technical reports and instructions.

Essential requirements:

  • Able to obtain and maintain Developed Vetting (DV) security clearance.
  • Strong background in electronic test engineering covering digital, analogue and RF technologies.
  • Experience supporting products through development and manufacturing environments.
  • Proven capability with manual and automated test systems.
  • Able to produce technical documentation and communicate effectively with technical stakeholders.

Salary and rewards:

Circa £52,000 depending on experience, with added benefits, including:
