Submarine Safety Engineering Consultant (CAT A or CAT B) Permanent | Flexible working options | Multiple UK locations

Working in partnership with a respected engineering consultancy, you’ll help deliver safety solutions that support the UK submarine community and contribute to a safer, more sustainable future.

Flexibility built in: Whether you’re seeking full-time, part-time or job-share arrangements, this role is designed to accommodate your needs. Offices are located in Bath, Bristol, Fareham, Glasgow, Plymouth, Weymouth, London and Teddington, with hybrid working available. Occasional travel to customer sites or meetings will be required.

Your contribution: You’ll provide technical safety support and subject matter advice across a range of submarine and underwater systems projects. Drawing on your operational or maintenance experience within Royal Navy submarines, you’ll help ensure compliance with UK legislation, regulations and safety standards. You’ll be supported with tailored learning and development to grow your expertise and progress professionally.

What you’ll bring: This role is ideal for an ex-Submariner looking to transition into safety engineering. You may already be familiar with nuclear safety management, hazard log development, HAZID facilitation or MOD safety frameworks, but what matters most is your ability to learn, adapt and communicate effectively. Professional registration (IEng or CEng) is valued and support is available to help you achieve it.
