This role sits within a well-established engineering group known for providing high-technology interconnect, sensor and antenna solutions across various sectors, such as defence, aerospace and automotive. You will advise the team on NPI projects supporting DFM/DFMEA for moulded part/tooling design and provide support with any issues when required.
Your role:
- Investigate production issues and implement tooling updates to maintain high-quality outputs.
- Support new product introduction through design for manufacture and risk assessment.
- Develop, verify, and maintain 3D models, technical drawings, and specifications for components and mould tools.
- Collaborate with colleagues and cross-functional teams to improve processes and material selection.
Your experience:
- Minimum BEng in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Previous mould tooling experience in a manufacturing environment is essential.
- Experience with 3D CAD (CREO or similar) and simulation tools such as Moldex 3.
- Knowledge of injection moulding processes and design for volume production.
- Understanding of GD&T and creating detailed manufacturing drawings.
- Familiarity with DFMEA, DFM/A and NPI processes.
- Right to work in the UK, no sponsorship provided.
