This is a rare opportunity to shape advanced submarine systems from early concept through to long term in-service evolution. You will take ownership of system level design decisions and ensure technical solutions remain robust, compliant and aligned to evolving operational needs. You will lead system architecture definition, support bid and proposal activity, stakeholder management, and act as a key technical authority across the full lifecycle of complex engineered solutions. The role also involves collaboration across engineering, project and supply chain teams to ensure delivery against cost, schedule and performance targets. As a System Design Authority you will help drive technical direction for future capability development and contribute to wider standardisation and technology roadmap activity within a highly specialist engineering environment.
What you will need:
- Eligibility for UK SC clearance
- Strong systems engineering background
- Experience in complex system architecture design
- Ability to lead technical decision making
- Exposure to full system lifecycle delivery
Technical background (desirable):
- Sonar or seismic array systems
- Signal processing, sensor data or telemetry
- Real time or decision support systems
- Towed array or cable handling systems
- Weapon or countermeasure systems
- Acoustic, RF or electromagnetic systems
- Industrial automation or control systems
- Safety critical systems engineering
- System modelling and simulation
- Submarine or marine systems concepts and technologies
