A range of systems engineering work supporting complex defence programmes with scope across requirements, certification and delivery support in a hybrid working environment. You will help to fulfil the full potential of the system and to extend and tailor the capability for existing and emerging export contracts.

What you will need:

  • British citizen or dual UK national with British citizenship and eligible for BPSS and SC clearance
  • Experience in systems engineering within a defence or safety critical environment
  • Requirements management and derivation experience using tools such as DOORS or DOORS NG
  • Understanding of engineering change control and system development lifecycles

Salary and rewards:

Up to £57,000 depending on experience, plus paid overtime opportunities and a strong benefits package including pension contributions up to 14% and flexible working arrangements.

What you will be doing:

  • Working within a functional systems engineering team supporting complex land-based defence systems
  • Translating customer needs into system, subsystem and software requirements
  • Supporting certification activities including technical evidence review and design certification outputs
  • Contributing to stakeholder engagement and programme delivery activities across multi-national projects
  • Supporting systems studies, trade-off analysis and design development activities
  • Collaborating across engineering disciplines to ensure coherent system performance and delivery readiness

Skills and experience:

  • Systems engineering experience in complex engineering environments, ideally defence
  • Requirements engineering and traceability experience
  • Use of systems tools such as DOORS, DOORS NG or Rhapsody
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to stakeholders at different levels
  • Experience with engineering change control and configuration management
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and coordination skills

Location and setup:

Bristol, hybrid working three days per week on site.
