We are supporting a major regulatory organisation in the search for Electrical Control & Engineering Specialists to join a specialist team focused on electrical safety, control systems integrity, risk management and legal compliance across high hazard industries.

This is an excellent opportunity for experienced Electrical, Controls, E&I or ICSS Engineers looking to apply their technical expertise in a role centred on investigation, assurance, governance and improving safety standards.

You will apply your experience and knowledge of Electrical Distribution Systems and Complex control systems to identify risk and underlying issues on site across a wide range of industries (often from first principles).

You will be:

  • Investigating serious electrical and control systems incidents and identifying root causes
  • Inspecting industrial sites and assessing the effectiveness of risk management and safety controls
  • Producing technical reports and providing specialist support during legal proceedings and investigations
  • Influencing organisations to improve compliance, reduce risk and enhance electrical and control systems safety

Requirements:

  • Distribution and use of electricity at both high and low voltage, including safe systems of work and where applicable, compliance with BS7671
  • Electrical, electronic, programmable and safety-related control systems as applied to process control equipment and machinery, including risk assessment, design, installation, testing, maintenance and modification with application of ISO 13849, IEC 62061 and IEC60204-1 where relevant
  • Experienced with PLC-based automation and industrial controls in industries such as utilities, power, oil and gas, chemicals, manufacturing or other major hazard environments
  • Chartered Engineer status is preferred. Candidates with an appropriate engineering degree and the ability to achieve Chartered status within one year are also encouraged to apply
  • A full UK driving licence is essential
  • Applicants must have the right to work in the UK. Sponsorship is not available for this position.
