An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced R&D Test Systems Engineer to support the delivery of advanced engineering programmes. This short term contract will see you playing a key role in the build and commissioning of specialist test equipment used to validate complex electro mechanical systems. This is a hands on engineering role suited to someone with experience building and commissioning bespoke test rigs in an R&D or manufacturing environment.
What you will be doing:
- Build mechanical test rigs in accordance with engineering drawings and plans
- Complete rack wiring and instrumentation installation
- Install plumbing for liquid cooling systems
- Commission and bring test equipment into operation
- Follow established commissioning procedures and safety requirements
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues during test rig build and bring up
- Report daily progress to project leadership
- Deliver work to a high standard of quality within project timescales
Skills and experience:
You will ideally have:
- HNC, HND or equivalent technical engineering experience
- Previous experience building and commissioning test system rigs
- Strong electro mechanical assembly experience
- Experience of rack build, instrumentation and electrical wiring
- Experience with plumbing for industrial or cooling systems
- Experience fault finding and bringing test equipment into service
- Good understanding of safe working practices within engineering environments
Desirable experience includes:
- Experience working with liquid cooling systems
- City & Guilds 2382-22 18th Edition qualification
