What you will do in this role is take ownership of a critical engineering sub-system - the Platform Data Link Terminal (PDLT) that underpins advanced maritime capability, supporting its performance, reliability and evolution across live programmes. This is a position that gives you real scope to shape technical outcomes while developing your systems engineering career within a high-performing defence environment.
What you will need:
- British Citizen or dual UK national with British citizenship
- Eligibility to obtain and maintain security clearance (SC level)
- Experience delivering engineering products within a structured lifecycle
- Understanding of systems engineering processes including specification and integration
- Experience with technical problem solving in a complex engineering environment
Salary and rewards:
- Salary £46,000 to £55,000
- Flexi leave up to 15 additional days, offering strong additional time off alongside annual leave
What you will be doing:
- Supporting in-service engineering queries across a complex technical system
- Applying model based systems engineering methods using industry tools
- Validating and supporting certification of product changes and updates
- Contributing to systems integration, test and engineering assurance activities
- Working with project teams to support planning, forecasting and delivery tracking
- Producing and reviewing technical engineering documentation
Skills and background:
- STEM degree or equivalent engineering background
- Systems engineering knowledge including specification, test and integration (can be taught but would need some prior knowledge)
- Model Based Systems Engineering experience, ideally SysML and UML (can be taught)
- Experience using requirements and configuration tools such as DOORS (can be taught)
- Familiarity with engineering lifecycle delivery in complex programmes
- Ability to challenge processes and contribute to continuous improvement

Location and setup:
