We are supporting a leading Defence technology partner in recruiting an experienced RF Systems Lead Engineer. This role offers the chance to lead advanced data link programmes, shaping technical solutions and guiding a small team of engineers. You will collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to develop and validate system architecture and oversee work across the full product lifecycle.

Responsibilities

  • Take ownership of technical investigations and problem‑solving, ensuring designs meet demanding operational requirements.
  • Coordinate suppliers, define requirements and manage development activities from concept through verification and validation.
  • Lead junior engineers and work autonomously within a multi‑skilled team.
  • Conduct technical investigations and lead design reviews across the product lifecycle.
  • Oversee the transition of development hardware into production.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Strong expertise in RF technologies, system‑level design and systems engineering practices.
  • Experience managing internal and external suppliers.
  • Work package management and configuration management skills.
  • Proven ability in proving and validation.
  • Awareness of simulation tools: Architecture (SysML) / performance modelling (MATLAB).
  • Experience working within an international team.
  • Understanding of RF communication principles and design.

  • SC clearance required; vacancies are only open to British Citizens able to attain SC clearance.
