Location: Bolton - hybrid working: 3-4 days per week
You will provide first line of support and co-ordination of resolution for complex production design queries to improve production yield and ensure programme targets are achieved.
About the role:
- Provide a point of contact within the manufacturing facility to gather data, run investigations and respond to production design queries with different teams and stakeholders.
- Utilise established engineering toolsets (IBM PLM suite, SAP, …) to correctly locate, convey and manage design data, including gathering evidence from the shop floor.
- Lead technical progress meetings with the relevant project teams and suppliers.
- Where necessary, place work packages on the design teams to implement design changes.
About you:
- Minimum Level 4 (HNC or equivalent in a relevant subject) with industry work experience.
- Experience as a product design engineer, architect, design authority or technician, who has worked in product development across the design lifecycle, including the transfer into manufacturing.
- Diagnose product faults and failures using a methodical, multi-disciplinary engineering approach. Communicate effectively with manufacturing teams and a remote design authority to ensure timely issue resolution.
- Apply quality management systems and PLM tools to control product configuration, build structures, and documentation.
- Lead and support structured problem-solving activities, including using methods such as 8D.
