Overview: Join a specialist engineering company supporting the development of advanced mechanical systems within high technology power generation and rotating equipment applications. This position involves taking ownership of mechanical design work packages and contributing to innovative engineering challenges across both new product development and enhancement of existing technologies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver mechanical design solutions for rotating and electromechanical systems, with strong emphasis on rotating machinery, including shafts, bearings, seals and associated assemblies.
- Produce and maintain CAD models, drawings and BOMs using CATIA V5 and Windchill, ensuring compliance with design for manufacture and assembly principles.
- Lead or support engineering work packages, including design assurance activities, technical documentation, calculations and engineering analysis such as tolerance and stress studies.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver key programme milestones.
Requirements:
- Degree or equivalent experience in Mechanical, Automotive or Aeronautical Engineering.
- Strong and demonstrable experience in mechanical design of rotating machinery is essential.
- Proficient in CATIA V5 and Windchill.
- Understanding of engineering materials and manufacturing processes.
- Experience working within electromechanical design environments.
- Strong communication skills across technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- High-speed power generation or motor systems, as well as a basic understanding of electronics or mechatronics would be advantageous.
You must have the right to work in the UK without sponsorship for this role.
This is a contract role.
