We have an exciting opportunity to join an innovative team at the forefront of defence technology. This opportunity will help to contribute to a high-profile antenna development programme, pushing the boundaries of electromagnetic design and system integration.

About the Role

As an Antenna Design Engineer, you’ll become a key player in a multi-disciplinary team focused on the development of advanced antennas for next-generation systems. This role combines detailed computer modelling, prototype development, hands-on testing, and close collaboration with internal teams and external suppliers. You’ll work within a dynamic environment, where your skills will contribute to the delivery of cutting-edge solutions under tight deadlines, with a strong emphasis on quality and performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design novel antennas for multi-mode seekers using the latest in additive layer manufacturing.
  • Deliver technical solutions for complex environments with limited space and challenging operating conditions.
  • Perform electromagnetic simulations using Ansys HFSS; post-process results with MATLAB.
  • Participate in anechoic chamber testing and oversee the transition to pre-production.
  • Collaborate with teams across RF Engineering, EO & IR Sensors, Seeker Systems, and more.

What We’re Looking For

  • Proven experience in antenna design and development.
  • Proficiency in electromagnetic simulation tools (e.g., Ansys HFSS or CST Studio).
  • Understanding of microwave frequencies, ideally UHF and beyond X-band.
  • Strong MATLAB skills.
  • Degree or equivalent in a relevant engineering or physics discipline.
  • Clear and confident communication skills.

Salary: Circa £55,000 (depending on experience)

Location: Stevenage (Hybrid working will be offered)
