About The Role
The General Maintenance Assistant is a vital role. This role requires you to work as part of our support team to help ensure that the highest standard of maintenance is achieved throughout the home. You will be required to carry out your duties in an efficient and timely manner, ensuring our residents have a clean and tidy environment at all times. Being a team player and having attention to detail is essential to this role. No experience is required; all we ask is that you are willing to learn and have a Can Do attitude. You will be provided with full training on the cleaning routine within the home and how to work safely, which products to use and how to work specialist equipment.
Responsibilities Of a General Maintenance Operative
- To carry out day to day maintenance of the building, its services and grounds in order to ensure that the home is maintained in a safe and efficient functional order, i.e. plumbing and joinery.
- Responsibility for all maintenance, fire and health and safety checks as advised by the Home Manager.
- Maintain a āMaintenance Bookā in which defects are recorded by Staff Members. Use this book to effect repairs/replacements daily.
- Maintain decoration of the home as and when required ensuring home is kept to presentable standards.
- Report immediately to the Home Manager, or Person in Charge, any illness of an infectious nature or accident incurred by a Client, colleague, self or another.
