Electryone AI is an AI-powered wholesale trading platform for distributed energy assets. We help asset owners and managers launch smart energy services built on batteries, EVs and heat pumps. Our partners are creating some of the most innovative energy experiences for homes and businesses in the UK, accelerating the path to net-zero.
About the role
You will be the first design hire, setting the direction and quality bar across the company. You will work closely with the CEO, product, engineering, and communication teams to turn intent into experiences partners and customers can understand and use.
We believe everything is UX: what we promise on the landing page, what users feel in onboarding, how the product behaves every day, the voice of our communications, and how we show up in the real world. We are looking for a driven design lead to own the end-to-end experience and turn an early product into a clear, consistent system across product, interaction, motion, brand, and key physical touchpoints.
How we work
At Electryone, we believe small teams of amazing people outperform larger teams with adequate performance. We value clear thinking, strong problem-solving skills, direct communication, and creativity in how work gets done.
Responsibilities
- Own the user experience across platform, web and mobile
- Turn founder intent and early ideas into clear, usable product designs
- Keep the product's look, feel, behaviour, and brand consistent across all touchpoints
- Partner closely with engineering from early ideas through specs, handoff, QA, and iteration
- Build and maintain a lightweight design system that supports speed and consistency
- Design marketing and growth work as part of the product experience
- Design for trust, clarity, and safety in a regulated, real-world energy system, including edge cases, constraints, and failure scenarios.
Experience and skills
- Strong product design experience across mobile and web
- Solid grasp of native iOS and Android patterns
- Ability to design and prototype interaction and motion
- Nice to have: Experience in early-stage startups and ambiguous environments
- Experience designing enterprise or B2B products in complex domains
We believe diverse teams build better products. We welcome applicants regardless of background, identity, or lived experience, and we care more about how you think and work than where you come from or how your CV is structured.
We offer a highly competitive salary and share options. If this role sounds interesting but you are unsure whether you are a perfect fit, we would still love to hear from you.
