We are currently looking for a Lead Installer/ Site Supervisor in our UK office, Dartford. In this role you will achieve an exemplary record for health and safety for all activities onsite and ensure Installation, Commissioning and Onsite Programming activities are completed on time, on budget and to the clients overall satisfaction. All work must be carried out in accordance with ES Quality Procedures – evident through successful audits and as Lead Installer/ Site Supervisor you will ensure the Client and Project Manager are kept fully informed about progress, status, risks and issues onsite.
What you will be doing:
- Assist in the Installation of AV projects to completion, and the management of Electrosonic personnel, and activities on sites as necessary.
- Manage BIW (electronic collaboration tools), project plans, log sheets and status reports to ensure effective communications both internally and externally to clients.
- Look for ways of improving our operations and pre-empt overruns with pro-activity and strict adherence to costs.
- Maximize efficiency of staff members and contractors.
- Liaise with Project Engineers and Project Manager on Project technical aspects, and coordinate and liaise with the client, main contractor and other trades as necessary.
- Provide a flexible approach to project changes on site – clearly escalating changes and variations to the Project Manager to ensure changes are properly evaluated and funded.
- Provide updates to the Installation and Project Manager on site status and concerns.
- Monitor and track Installation and Commissioning progress and report status to the Project Manager.
- Assist the Project Manager in managing change and variation in the project.
- Provide feedback to Projects Managers & Engineers throughout the project period.
- Ensure a proactive approach to ensuring all materials and consumables are prepared and available to the team in advance of the demand.
- Lead Health and Safety by example, according to Electrosonic processes and all relevant legislations, and be responsible for Risk Assessments, Method Statements and Toolbox talks on site.
- Perform Site surveys to help prepare quotations for future work, or to manage risk on upcoming work.
Person Specification:
- Strong ability to work alone and on own initiative, but also to lead teams within a construction site environment.
- Ability to lead all on site activities on time, on spec, and to keep to the budgeted number of hours for each job.
- Be organised, flexible and able to approach different types of tasks during the working day.
- Excellent communication skills, making use of key tools such as Microsoft Project, MS Excel, Outlook and Word.
- Thorough understanding of 1st and 2nd fix AV installations, commissioning, programming to final handover.
- Ability to work from instructions from Project Engineers and Project Managers, but also to think laterally and provide engineering solutions and make critical decisions on site.
- Ability to work from schematics, terminating sheets, site plans and projector drawings.
- Strong mechanical skills and the ability to lead best practice by example.
- Flexible and able to adapt to various situations.
- Ability to prioritize and work well under pressure.
- Clean, Full UK driving license.
- At least five years experience of production and wiring methods and previous installation supervisory work in the AV or M&E industry.
- Background in Construction Contracting, AV, electrical or electronic industries.
- IOSH, NEBOSH, CITB certified.
- Proactive with strong leadership skills.
- Computer skills: MS Project, Excel, Word, Microsoft Office and BIW (or other similar, electronic collaboration tools).
- Legal right to work in the UK and be prepared to travel and work away from home as necessary.
