What will you be doing?
- Financial reporting - Manage and oversee the month, tertiary and annual close process, timelines, deliverables, communicating with all stakeholders, analyzing results and discussing with business leaders and preparing Flash reports.
- Annual financial reports - Oversee the process and final annual reports for management and external stakeholders.
- Budgeting and Forecasting - Work with the CFOO, Group Financial Controller and business leaders on annual budget, cash forecasts and monthly P&L forecasts. This includes managing the process, data gathering and sharing, providing analysis, managing system updates and reporting.
- Responsible for preparing and maintaining weekly cash flow forecasts, monitoring project budgets, and managing project-related financial activities to ensure effective cash management.
- Financial Risk Assessment - Conduct thorough financial risk reviews on projects to ensure compliance with company policies and risk tolerance before contract signing, identifying potential financial exposures and recommending mitigation strategies.
- Finance Representation - Serve as the finance representative on the Europe management team, providing financial insights, supporting strategic decision-making, and ensuring alignment with overall business objectives and financial policies.
- Lead R&D credit applications, liaising with business operations to ensure back-up and supporting documentation is provided to our external advisors for timely submission of claims for R&D credits.
- Review deliverables performed by team members and shared services, providing guidance and oversight.
- Serve as a key resource and subject matter expert for accounting matters.
- Resolve critical issues, exercise sound judgement and ensure timely communication and escalation when necessary.
- Lead and support continuous process improvements within accounting including identifying opportunities within each line of business through genuine, engaged collaboration with other managers.
- Drive accountability across departments involved in the close and reporting processes.
- Project Accounting - Manage the monthly Work in Progress (WIP) close process within the ERP system, participating in monthly Project Status review meetings with Operations, preparation and finalization of month-end projects forecasts and ensure accurate revenue and cost recognition in accordance with company policies.
- Partner with business teams to reconcile project level financial results.
- Compliance Audits - Serve as the primary point of contact for external auditors in managing the annual audit process. Provide training and support to finance and other team members to ensure understanding and adherence to processes and policies.
- Research technical literature for finance and regulatory compliance.
- Corporate and VAT - Manage corporate taxes in conjunction with external tax firms; and VAT routine filings, payments and responding to related questions.
- Banking relationships - Maintain relationship with bank and compliance with loan covenant requirements.
- Internal controls - Develop and implement standardized finance policies and procedures to ensure consistency and compliance across the organization. Foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within the finance organization, encouraging team members to contribute ideas and feedback for enhancement.
- Leadership - Be a leader to the finance team, defining goals, guiding members, removing hurdles, aligning with other groups in the Company and maintaining great team motivation and morale.

What qualifications are required?
- Minimum 10 years' experience including managing an accounting department.
