About ElectroRoute

Our vision is to make net zero a reality by solving the commercial mechanics of a decarbonised energy system. ElectroRoute is an international, renewables focused energy trading and services company. The company employs over 90 energy professionals based in Ireland, the UK and Europe and is a subsidiary of Mitsubishi Corporation. ElectroRoute intelligently leverages the benefits of new technologies, advanced methodologies, and the application of unrivalled expertise to develop innovative energy trading and renewable risk management solutions. These mitigate the factors which impede clean energy investment and help make net zero a reality.

The Team

ElectroRoute is currently seeking a talented, highly motivated analyst to join its Pricing and Structuring team in either Dublin or London, reporting into the Pricing and Structuring Manager. The team supports commercial growth by pricing and structuring a wide variety of prospective energy contracts across Ireland, Great Britain and Europe. This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Wind and solar balancing agreements
  • Fixed-priced power purchase agreements (PPAs)
  • Battery energy storage system (BESS) structures, including floors, tolls and RTM optimisation
  • Related virtual products

The team works closely with stakeholders in Origination and Trading across both the Dublin and London offices, providing commercial insight and an independent view on pricing, structuring and portfolio construction.

What does the role involve?

The analyst’s responsibilities will include:

  • Independently pricing energy contracts across all activity sets, using quantitative methods to value opportunities and assess standalone and portfolio-level risk
  • Conducting in-depth quantitative and qualitative analysis of power, gas, and carbon markets to inform pricing and deal structuring
  • Developing and enhancing pricing and valuation models, with a focus on continuous improvement of modelling techniques and processes
  • Collaborating continuously with Origination and Trading teams on the pricing of live deals
  • Routinely presenting pricing and deal structures to Origination and Senior Management teams

What we’re looking for

We’re keen to hear from candidates who have:

  • Intermediate-level energy market experience in trading, pricing/structuring, trading risk or market analytics
  • Commercial understanding of the power market, ideally within Great Britain and/or Ireland
  • Strong numerical and communication skills
  • Familiarity with valuation techniques (e.g. cash flow modelling) and/or risk quantification (e.g. scenario and sensitivity analysis)
  • Experience performing quantitative and statistical analysis on large datasets, using Excel, SQL, or Python, to provide commercial insights
  • A track record of managing and delivering multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment, while maintaining accuracy of output and strong attention to detail

We’re especially keen to hear from any candidates who have:

  • Experience using PLEXOS
  • Detailed understanding of the forward power market
  • In-depth knowledge of various contract types (e.g. BESS tolls/floors, balancing contracts, etc.)

Worried that you don’t have some of the above? If you’re motivated by our vision and this role, and think you can add value, we strongly encourage you to still apply – the right candidate may bring other skills and experiences to the table than what we’ve listed above.

Diversity and inclusion allow the ElectroRoute team to be curious, creative, and promote positive change.
