We are looking for a Senior FPGA Design Engineer to join our engineering team, leading the design and development of advanced FPGA solutions for cutting-edge Positioning, Navigation and Timing (PNT) products. These solutions are central to high-performance, real-time applications, requiring fast, precise data processing and seamless integration with sensor systems.
What You Will Do:
- Designing FPGA solutions at the core of advanced PNT systems, including Kalman filter-based sensor fusion
- Validating designs at hardware level, ensuring performance holds up beyond simulation
- Writing and optimising HDL (VHDL, Verilog, SystemVerilog) using tools like Vivado, ModelSim, and QuestaSim
- Integrating communication protocols (SPI, I2C, UART, AXI) into tightly coupled, real-time systems
- Applying signal processing techniques such as FIR filtering and FFT to meet demanding real-time requirements
- Delivering high-speed digital designs where performance, precision, and reliability are critical
What We Require From You:
We are looking for an FPGA Design Engineer with proven experience across design, implementation, and verification, backed by a degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field. You will bring strong HDL skills (VHDL, Verilog, SystemVerilog), solid experience with verification methodologies such as UVM, and a deep understanding of high-speed digital design and signal processing (FIR, FFT). You will be confident working with tools like Vivado, ModelSim, and QuestaSim, and experienced in implementing communication protocols (SPI, I2C, UART, AXI) on FPGA platforms, with the ability to debug at hardware level using tools such as ILA and VIO. Familiarity with SoCs (e.g. MicroBlaze, Zynq) and scripting (TCL/TK or similar) is a plus. Just as importantly, you will be a clear communicator, comfortable working cross-functionally, and able to take ownership of your work from design through to validation. Experience working on complex, real-world systems - particularly involving sensor fusion or high-performance data processing, will set you apart.
As a growing UK operation, we offer the chance to join at an early stage and contribute to a business with a strong trajectory and an established market-leading reputation.
