Location: Negotiable, depending on experience

Working Hours: Monday to Thursday 7.30am to 16.30pm and Friday 7.30am to 12.30pm

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Manufacturing Technician to join our growing and friendly team of manufacturing professionals. Working within our manufacturing facility, you will be involved in producing a diverse range of products and assemblies for a variety of industries, including automotive, heavy machinery and instrumentation. This is a hands-on role requiring a strong eye for detail, good technical ability and previous experience in wiring harness manufacture, electrical assembly or a similar manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build multi-leg wiring harnesses to engineering drawings and specifications
  • Manufacture electrical and mechanical assemblies using hand tools and power tools
  • Read, understand and work from engineering drawings and electrical wiring schematics
  • Carry out electrical testing using appropriate test equipment to verify continuity and integrity
  • Perform soldering and crimping to the required quality standards
  • Use appropriate automotive tooling when manufacturing wiring harnesses
  • Follow established manufacturing processes, procedures and quality standards
  • Maintain a clean, organised and safe working environment
  • Ensure all work is completed accurately and to the required specification
  • Work effectively as part of a team to meet production requirements and deadlines

Additional Responsibilities

  • Depending on business requirements, the successful candidate may also be required to:
  • Carry out product testing, repairs and modifications
  • Assist with other manufacturing and assembly activities
  • Support other areas of the manufacturing facility when required
  • Work overtime when necessary to meet production requirements

About You

The successful candidate will ideally have:

  • 3 years' proven experience in wiring harness manufacture or a similar manufacturing environment
  • Experience working with mechanical drawings and electrical schematics
  • Experience using automotive tooling in the manufacture of wiring harnesses
  • Practical experience in soldering and crimping
  • A basic understanding of ISO 9001 processes and procedures
  • Good attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work
  • Strong communication skills
  • The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
  • A positive, flexible and proactive approach to work
