We're looking for a Director of Partnerships Marketing to join EA's Esports team. The Esports team delivers experiences that amplify tentpole brand moments—from launches to major live service beats. We leverage Esports to advance the strategic priorities of our franchises, focusing on engaging our core players across new regions, platforms, audience segments, and game experiences. EA's current esports programs span several of our biggest titles, including Apex Legends, EA SPORTS FC, and Madden NFL. The Director of Partnerships Marketing will play a critical role in both driving commercial revenue and leading the strategic development of important partnerships across this evolving portfolio.
Your responsibilities include:
- Lead end-to-end sponsorship strategy: From prospecting and pitching to closing and activating, oversee all phases of partnership development across EA's Esports titles.
- Own revenue targets: Track pipeline, forecast growth, and build monetization models and reporting.
- Cultivate relationships with endemic and non-endemic brands, broadcast partners, platforms, agencies, and publishers to grow the visibility and influence of EA's Esports programmes.
- Design co-marketing activations that go beyond logo placement—creating campaigns that align with our games' creative direction, storytelling, and community culture.
- Align Esports partnership efforts with franchise brand strategies—ensuring that partner activations contribute to the commercial and cultural growth of Apex Legends Global Series, FC Pro, Madden NFL Championship Series, and any future titles.
- Collaborate with Esports production, live services, and digital content teams to build integrated campaigns that come to life across tentpole events, seasonal beats, and always-on channels.
- Develop ecosystem-level partnerships with football leagues, sports organisations, influencers, platforms and other third parties to co-create experiences that reach new fans and markets.
- Lead sponsorship and co-marketing analytics—including valuation modelling, measurement frameworks, post-campaign reporting, and performance optimization recommendations.
Qualifications:
- Established senior level experience in brand partnerships, sponsorship marketing, or commercial strategy within esports, gaming, entertainment, or sports.
- Experience negotiating and activating high-impact partnerships that deliver commercial results and cultural relevance.
- Experience blending commercial and brand-building objectives—understanding how sponsorship can both generate revenue and deepen player and fan engagement.
- Experience working directly with esports teams, tournament organizers, platforms, or major sports properties on co-branded initiatives.
- Familiarity with EA's core esports franchises (e.g., Apex Legends, EA SPORTS FC, Madden NFL) and a desire to help shape the future of competitive gaming.
- Expertise in ROI modeling, valuation, and campaign performance reporting.
- Knowledge of trends in esports, gaming culture, sponsorship innovation, and media consumption habits to influence our long-term partnership marketing strategy.
