We create videos for a curious, engaged audience that asks big questions. We seek a creative and experienced Writer/Director to join our remote digital video team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for scripting engaging, accurate, and informative content on Physics, Maths, Engineering, and related topics. They will oversee production, plan, direct, and produce videos, reporting to the Producer and collaborating with the team to ensure content is informative, entertaining, and visually compelling.
Responsibilities
- Research topics related to Physics, Maths, and Engineering; propose video ideas.
- Write, revise, and edit scripts, ensuring accuracy and engaging storytelling, with deep research into scientific sources.
- Align scripts with visual content and overall content goals.
- Stay updated on new research and scientific advancements; incorporate findings into scripts.
- Develop and manage production schedules, ensuring timely delivery within budget.
- Create storyboards, shot lists, and scripts to guide production.
- Manage all production aspects, including post-production and distribution, optimizing for YouTube and social media platforms.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or higher degree in Physics, Maths, Engineering, or related field.
- Proven experience in long-form science communication, preferably with YouTube content.
- Portfolio demonstrating strong writing skills, attention to detail, and ability to simplify complex ideas.
- Strong project management skills and ability to handle multiple projects under tight deadlines.
