Mechanical Automation Engineer
Location: Electrified Automation, Unit 4 Beech Business Park, Bridgwater, Somerset
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Mechanical Automation Engineer, supporting customers with their electrification ambitions.
You will design bespoke manufacturing solutions to aid the production of electric motors, covering manual jigs and fixtures through to fully automated manufacturing cells.
Skills needed:
- 1+ years’ experience in designing bespoke machinery / equipment
- Degree or equivalent in mechanical engineering
- Fully conversant in Solidworks CAD system
- Knowledge and experience using GD&T
- Understanding of MFMEA processes
- Experience designing and manufacturing equipment incorporating robotics; understanding of machine directive and general system safety requirements; control systems
- Engage with customers to create detailed design specifications that satisfy all parties\’ requirements
- Provide technical support to the business to aid with project quotations
- Create engineering solutions for production equipment and ensure all aspects of the brief are met
- Draft 2D manufacturing drawings, technical/design specifications, and detailed 3D designs and equipment GA for procurement
- Work closely with control engineers to develop automation systems to control the process
- Ensure compliance with relevant Health and Safety standards, policies, and procedures
- Support procurement, planning, manufacture, commissioning, and delivery of equipment
- Resolve issues with production processes and equipment, and improve their efficiency
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure high standards of product quality
- Support the introduction of new equipment and processes into production
- Work hours: 07:30 – 16:30, Monday to Thursday, with a 15:30 finish on Fridays
