The candidate will work within a dynamic team of dedicated professionals and will be responsible for delivering excellent service to business customers, achieving growth and retention sales targets in respect of retail gas, retail electricity, and including energy services as required. This role will report to the SMESales & Customer Service Manager and will be based in Swift Square, Santry or Belfast.
Key Responsibilities
- Work as part of a Sales Team to achieve sales growth and retention through delivery of agreed sales objectives/targets.
- Build and maintain an in-depth knowledge of the operation of the Gas and Electricity and energy services markets in Ireland to contribute positively to Electric Ireland’s strategic objectives.
- Develop and manage relationships with customers and other industry stakeholders including brokers, consultants, trade bodies and service providers.
- Manage a customer base through proactive contact including regular visits to customer premises while developing and maintaining an in-depth understanding of customers’ businesses and needs.
- Deliver timely and courteous customer service and communications to customers and stakeholders via phone, email and face to face, in line with company policies, sales & marketing strategy and brand values.
- Issuing electricity and gas sales quotations to customers, assisting with customer retention campaigns and generating customer reports.
- This position entails close working relationships with other areas of the business including Trading, Pricing, Operations, Finance and Marketing in addition to the wider Business Markets area.
Experience and Qualifications
- Either 3rd level qualification or equivalent work experience is essential.
- Minimum 2+ years' experience.
- Strong customer service focus with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Analysing data, problem solving and decision making.
- Excellent planning and organising skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Full driving licence.
- Knowledge of wholesale or retail electricity markets would be an advantage but not essential.
- Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills.
Location
This position will be based in Swift Square, Santry or Belfast. ESB is committed to smart working – combining digital tools with a culture of trust and empowerment to enable flexible ways of working. The successful candidate may work flexibly within their jurisdiction with attendance at the workplace for in-person collaboration on at least two anchor days per week. All smart working arrangements are subject to manager approval and ongoing review, based on the operational requirements of the role, the team, and the individual.

€40,100 - €47,200 per annum (depending on experience).
