A Fantastic Opportunity: Cable Jointer

You will be required to work on the SP ENW underground electricity distribution network under both live and dead conditions. You will participate in repair, maintenance inspection and fault-finding activities commensurate with your level of authorisation.

Day to day you will be involved in:

  • Repairing street furniture faults
  • Replacing single and three phase service terminations
  • Finding and repairing customer services
  • Restoring supplies to customers including LV operations and repairing HV cables.

What we’re looking for

We welcome applications from individuals with diverse backgrounds and experiences who meet the following criteria:

  • Relevant City & Guilds level 2 qualification;
  • Hold an NRSWA (New Roads & Street Works Act) accreditation;
  • Distribution Network Operator LV jointing authorisations;
  • Distribution Network Operator HV jointing authorisations;
  • An understanding of safety systems and the importance of risk assessments;
  • Be willing to work outside in all weathers with some anti-social hours;
  • Be in possession of a full UK driving licence;
  • Experience of operating plant;
  • Relevant utility experience.
