Our Area Operations North team has a fantastic opportunity for an Overhead Line Worker to join them in Penrith.

Our Role

The team is responsible for maintaining, repairing, and refurbishing overhead lines to ensure a reliable and efficient electricity supply for our customers. You will be involved in constructing and refurbishing the overhead power distribution network, as well as fault location and repair work, during and outside normal working hours to minimize customer outages.

As an Overhead Line Operative, You Can Expect To

  • Report on progress to keep colleagues and customers informed
  • Participate in inspection and maintenance of overhead plant

Who We’re Looking For

  • NVQ or City & Guilds Level 2 qualification or equivalent
  • Current HV/LV/Limited Authorisation for overhead line work
  • Proven experience working at heights
  • Proficiency with overhead line equipment, winches, MEWPs, tracked excavators
  • Qualified in pole top rescue
  • Knowledge of safety requirements for working on overhead power lines
  • Experience leading or participating in work parties under safety protocols
  • Familiarity with H&S, Environmental, and Quality policies
  • Valid UK driving licence (HGV desirable)
  • Experience in off-road driving
  • Ability to complete work-related paperwork
  • Knowledge of computers and mobile devices (desirable)
