Our Finance team has a fantastic opportunity for a Finance Administrator to join them in Salford.

Our role

Provide accounting support to the Management Accounts function to ensure the preparation of accurate and robust financial reports for the Electricity North West Group. Delivering excellent transactional management accounting and standardised reporting to the business. Support the financial control structure of the Group.

Key Responsibilities

  • Posting of business journals & reconciliations into SAP/Corporate reporting system during month-end. Provide support for the regulatory reporting process, where necessary.
  • Preparation of monthly control account reconciliations. Ensure technical accounting knowledge is kept up to date and all new standards and legislation are assessed and implemented to ensure compliant external reporting.
  • Support for purchase requisition creation and Goods Receipting for the Finance directorate.
  • Assist the overall group finance function on an ad-hoc basis.
  • Preparation of monthly control accounts for the Group.
  • Undertake ad-hoc investigations into areas of uncertainty or concern.

Who We’re Looking For

  • Experience in an established finance function.
  • Experience of the financial month and year-end process.
  • Ability to follow established processes and seek improvements where appropriate.
  • Excellent attention to detail (Essential).
  • Effective communication skills (Essential).
  • Self-starter with strong organisational skills (Essential).
  • Flexible and adaptable in dealing with tasks and deadlines (Essential).
  • Strong analytical skills to understand and explain variances and trends (Desirable).
  • Experience in a large, regulated organisation (Desirable).
  • SAP experience (Desirable).
