About The Opportunity
The Buyer role delivers short term sourcing events and full tenders within a specified category. The role will ensure the delivery of tenders, commercial interventions and contract renewals. The role holder will need to work with colleagues from the business to understand required specifications and evaluation criteria.
The role holder will be required to create milestone plans for the delivery of their work and ensure compliance with internal and external governance. The role will regularly liaise with managers in the business as well as offering support to other colleagues in Commercial.
Principal Responsibilities Of The Role
- Working closely with the Category Manager to implement the Category Strategy through the delivery of tenders, negotiations, renewals and other commercial interventions
- Deliver tender activities to meet business requirements, ensuring compliance with internal and external governance
- Deliver against the procurement strategy for individual products and services, influencing specification and considering commercial aspects, operational risk, economies of scale, innovation and efficiency
- Act as a point of reference within the business with regard to Procurement processes and best practice
- Negotiate with suppliers to deliver best value, on price requests, performance issues and contract extensions
- Building relationships with suppliers that are culturally aligned to ENWL
- Influence internal stakeholders to ensure ENWL are delivering to the client requirements of agreements
- Drive innovation and supplier development
- Support broader commercial activities and other categories within Commercial as required
Who We Are Looking For
- Professional accreditation through CIPS or equivalent would be welcome
- Experience of delivering tenders in a complex commercial function
- Demonstrates understanding of the relevant procurement legislation
- Track record of delivering strong commercial outcomes
- Adept at communicating and influencing
- Holds self accountable, for outcomes
- Experience of balancing priorities in a fast paced, consistently changing environment to meet tight deadlines
- Proven numerical skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communicator.
- Full UK driving licence.
