Engineering Scheduler / Works Planner / Labour Controller
If you are organised, confident speaking with different people and good at keeping track of changing priorities, we can provide the training you need to become a successful Engineering Scheduler.
PTSG Electrical Services is looking for someone to coordinate electrical testing and remedial work across the UK.
Previous planning or scheduling knowledge would be useful, but it is not essential—we are equally interested in people with the right core skills and the willingness to learn.
You will take ownership of the schedules for a group of field-based Electricians, ensuring they have the information, equipment and support needed to complete their work safely and on time.
This is a busy role where plans can change quickly.
You will need to think ahead, solve problems and keep engineers, customers and colleagues informed.
In return, you will receive structured training, support from an established team and opportunities to build a long-term career within a growing national business.
- What you’ll be doing
- Planning and scheduling electrical testing and remedial work across the UK.
- Coordinating the daily and forward diaries of field-based Electricians.
- Responding to changes, cancellations and urgent customer requirements.
- Making sure engineers have the correct job information, equipment and site details.

- Keeping customers updated and helping resolve scheduling or service issues.
- Monitoring completed work, paperwork and supporting information.
- Helping completed jobs progress smoothly through to invoicing.
- Tracking engineer productivity and supporting the delivery of operational targets.
- Keeping internal systems and job records accurate and up to date.
- Who this role could suit
You may already work as a Scheduler, Planner, Works Coordinator, Service Coordinator or Labour Controller.
Alternatively, you may come from a customer service, administration, transport, logistics, maintenance or coordination background and be looking for an opportunity to develop new skills.
We will provide training on our services, systems and planning processes. What we need from you are the core qualities that are harder to teach:
- Strong organisation and prioritisation skills.
- Confidence communicating by telephone and email.
- The ability to build positive working relationships with customers and colleagues.
- A calm and practical approach when plans change.
- Good attention to detail and accurate data-entry skills.
- Confidence using IT systems, including Microsoft Office.
- The ability to solve problems and make sensible decisions.
- A willingness to learn and take ownership of your workload.
- A collaborative approach and willingness to support the wider team.
You do not need to know the electrical industry or understand all our processes from day one.
If you can organise, communicate, learn quickly and keep things moving when priorities change, we can teach you the rest.
What’s in it for you?
- 25 days’ holiday plus bank holidays.
- Salary-sacrifice pension scheme.
- 24-hour access to online GP appointments.
- Access to the Vivup discount centre, with savings on everyday shopping, major retailers, technology, gym memberships, airport parking, holidays, days out, meals and more.
