This is an interesting in-house commercial legal role supporting projects across a progressive data technology business. The small team works at the heart of the business with responsibility for legal and contractual review.
Responsibilities
- Draft, develop and negotiate a wide range of commercial technology and data contracts including: sales contracts, services contracts, platform as a service contracts, purchase contracts (including for large scale technology procurements), NDAs, research and development agreements and collaboration agreements.
- Advise internal clients and liaise with other third parties in the giving of commercial advice and the drafting of commercial documents.
- Create new templates, processes and playbooks to support stakeholders with self-sufficiency and wider understanding of legal requirements.
- Support the Company Secretarial function including drafting board papers, coordinating, arranging, minuting and attending meetings.
You will need
- Be a UK qualified solicitor with around 6 years+ PQE.
- Previous experience working in-house in a commercial contracts role ideally within the data, technology or energy sector.
- Understanding of data privacy, competition law and supply chain compliance.
- Strong organisational skills and technical ability.
- Comfortable prioritising and delivering large workloads to time constraints.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Natural team player with exceptional attention to detail.
- Willingness to manage your own administration requirements.
- Ability to deliver advice and training confidently and clearly.
- Ability to partner with the business combining sound legal advice informed by comprehensive understanding of products and strategy.
- Previous experience of company secretarial matters and/or data privacy (useful not essential).
