Job Description
Electra Networks is expanding! We are currently seeking aTelecommunications Installation Engineer to join our fast-paced and growing project team.Job location: NationwideHours: Full time40 hrs per weekSalary: Negotiable depending on qualifications and experienceKey Responsibilities:The installation of all types of telecommunication equipment at customer locations, primarily in Data Centres and switch sites. This will include:-Installation of equipment cabinets/Racks including server racks and Vendor specific equipment racks in both raised floor and non-raised floor environments,Installation of equipment within racks.Installation of all the associated cabling including:-AC power cabling,Cat 6/Cat 5 Network patching,Fibre patching (Eqpt to Eqpt or within ODF),Labelling of all the above in accordance with Customer specific standards,Fault finding (use of power meters, etc),Ability to splice.Carrying out site surveys.Liaising with internal and external customers.Working to tight timescales as part of a high-performing team.Assessing risks whilst on site.Producing required documentation/reporting for completed installation work.Must be responsible for working in accordance with the Companys Health & Safety and quality procedures, security requirements and suggesting improvements where necessary.Qualifications/Training:At least 2 years experience working as an installation engineer,18 thEdition qualification desirable but not essential,First Aid Certification preferable,Working at Height Certification desirable,CSCS qualification desirable,Clean UK Driving license and Right to Work in the UK essential,Computer literateable to use Windows OfficeFamiliarity with basic Command Line commands such as ping and IP address interrogation.Person Specific:Ability to work from Customers work planning file and Customer specific standards to achieve task completion,High level of attention to detail and accuracy as work is checked by Customer Conformance personnel,Ability to work unsupervised, use initiative and meet strict deadlines,Enthusiastic, proactive team player,An ability to methodically work through technical procedures and enjoy quick-fire problem solving,Ability to ascertain and impart appropriate information during installations.Why join Electra Networks?Be part of a collaborative, supportive, and ambitious team,Work on high-profile network rollout programmes,Opportunities for career development and industry exposure.Equality and Diversity Commitment:Electra Networks is committed to the principles of diversity, equality and inclusion.
