About the role

You will play an integral part of the Commission’s advice function, ensuring an informative and well-managed service for political parties, campaigners, agents and volunteers. You will respond to enquiries by telephone and email, provide high-quality regulatory advice, and anticipate risks and opportunities to improve proactive engagement with stakeholders. The role requires confidence in managing stakeholder relationships, responding to varying volumes of enquiries throughout the year, and adapting to electoral developments in a fast-paced regulatory environment.

About the team

The Regulatory Support Team sits within the Electoral Administration and Regulation directorate and is responsible for providing advice and guidance to the regulated community. The team works closely with colleagues across the Commission, particularly the guidance and policy teams, to ensure advice is accurate, consistent and timely. You will be joining a collaborative, knowledgeable team that values high standards of customer service, shared learning and continuous improvement.

Who we’re looking for

This role would suit someone who enjoys engaging with a wide range of stakeholders and providing clear, accurate advice in a regulatory setting. You will:

  • Have excellent prioritisation and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and organise your workload effectively with minimal oversight
  • Have experience resolving queries and relaying information to stakeholders accurately and in a timely manner
  • Be confident communicating with stakeholders over the phone and by email, including managing complex or challenging enquiries
  • Have strong attention to detail, with the ability to read, understand and apply legislation
  • Have the motivation and ability to familiarise yourself quickly with law relating to party and election finance
  • Experience of working in a regulatory or advice-giving environment, and of interpreting legislation, would be highly advantageous.
